Just thought I would say Hello as I am new here and currently on the free trial before working out whether I want to become a member or not (I think the answer will probably be yes).
I felt rather rude making a first post yesterday asking for help and having not introduced myself.
So hello, I am Miss Daisy (not my real name ;-) ) and I am just starting out on writing my first book. Well, it's an attempt. I doubt it will be very good, but if I never try it, I will always think what if.
I have a starting point, but have no idea where my story is going to end up.
I look forward to getting to know some of you better.

Welcome, Miss Daisy. I've been on this site for 6 months and have already learned so much, so I really recommend it.
What kind of novel are you writing?
Have you done any/many courses in the past?

Hi Miss Daisy
What sort of novel are you working on? If you're not sure quite how it's going to shape up yet, what sort of things do you like to read? That's often a useful indication of where people's interests lie.
all best

Hi Maria
My novel is about a relationship between two sisters, so it's really a family drama. There will be a bit of romance, a bit of tradegy in there but I wouldn't say it is chick-lit or could be classed as romantic fiction.
I like reading all sorts of books, chick-lit, mummy-lit, non-fiction, fiction, classics......but I would have to say my favourite book which I could read over and over again is The Time Travellers Wife.

Yay! Another The Time Traveller's Wife fan. Wonderful story. Must have been a terrific pain in the neck to write and plot though!

I can't even imagine how Audrey Miffenegger started writing that book. It must have been so confusing! It is such an excellent book though, it really touched me and I just love reading it - each time I do, I see things more clearly, or pick on something I missed the first time around. Amazing. Although I am slightly miffed that they are making it into a film.
