  • How Much For A Ghostwriter?
by Beadle at 09:38 on 09 February 2006
    Hi

I have been asked to pitch for a ghostwriting project and am not sure what to charge for my fee.

The 'author' will self-publish and it is essentially a marketing tool, so there will be few sales and therefore limited royalties to split as per the traditional method.

The book is likely to run to 75k words and will be on a business/management topic that I am familiar with. There will also be a some data and pre-existing reports from the 'author', so my job will be to develop the book's concept, incorporate the existing material and write new text.

I will also probably be managing the production process as well, including layout and design of the cover.

Does anybody have an idea of what I should charge for something like this?

    All thoughts gratefully accepted!

I've not a clue but I would suggest you contact the society of authors a very useful organisation.
Very well done in getting the job and hope it goes well.
    All the best
    Caroline.
