Citizen32's Isle of Arran Poetry Adventure 2008 - Book now!
The Poetry Party invites you to be one of the first writers to take part in our latest Isle of Arran, Scotland workshop 28th June to 5th July 2008 only , £400 single room or £200 for shared accomodation & poetry mentoring for the week.
There is a bursary payment on offer for those short of funds. A panel of tutors will choose the writer to recieve the bursary.

.In the company of poets you will enjoy individual tutoring & group workshops run by published poets & experienced performance poets.
The tutors are Rosie Lugosi,Gerry Potter, Jackie Hagan & John G.Hall
Up to now they will run like this:
* open-to-all workshops each morning 10-12ish
* private writing time in the afternoon
* open-to-all get togethers / reading in the evening
* optional opportunity for tutor feedback once in the week
PLUS: a one-off hour-long session 1-2-1 to discuss with a published poet/mentor/ guide where you want to be creatively & ideas for how to get there.
PLUS: lots of opportunity to explore the islands landscape, the villages, the castle & the large beach areas via organised trips or explore on your own.
PLUS: workshops in performance poetry, publication & Short story.
PLUS: writers can treate the week as their own personal creative retreat and simply do their own thing.
There may be some changes to this timtable before the weeks commencement, but poets will be kept informed.
Each Poetry Party Arran poetry adventure will produce a printed pamphlet of work produced during the weeks sessions.
All set against the magnificent backdrop of the Isle of Arran, blue seas & Highland Glens, ancient standing stones & woodland water falls, local pubs & whiskey distilleries, fine restaurants & fresh sea food, wide bays & castles. All within a couple of hours of Glasgow via a regular ferry service from Ardrossan.

St Columba’s Church
A highly original conversion from church to spacious family home on the Shore Road in Whiting Bay. Six spacious bedrooms, two bathrooms and a shower room on the ground floor. Upstairs is a vast living, dining, kitchen area with vaulted ceiling. Marvellous views from most upstairs windows across the bay towards the Ayrshire coast and the Holy Isle. Full oil fired central heating and double glazing throughout. Gas hob and oven. Sloping grounds to front and rear with large deck to one side.
