'Elaine Steel practised as a solicitor before becoming an agent and was General Secretary of the Writers’ Guild of Great Britain in the late seventies. In 1995 she produced a four-part drama serial for the BBC, Signs and Wonders, written by Michael Eaton and starring James Earl Jones, Prunella Scales, Jodhi May and David Warner. She was a founding board member of the Script Factory.'
