Hi Everyone!
Well, for all of you keeping an eye out for my Bookcrossing releases I have officially released all 8 copies of Laura and the Leprechauns out into the wild. I hope they will be caught by interested readers even if people don’t have an opportunity to journal their adventures online. They have been released throughout Orange and Los Angeles County and I am sure that I will have more releases in the future. So be sure to check out bookcrossing.com and lookup “Laura and the Leprechauns” to find the book running wild nearest you! And if your lucky, it you’ll be the first to catch it!
I am also happy to say that the response to my video book trailer has been very positive. So, thank you to all of you who took the time to view it. And if you haven’t had a chance to see it yet, there’s always still time. Just check Google.com or Youtube.com for Laura and the Leprechauns and you’ll be able to see the video. I posted one on Youtube.com under amberkingston so you can learn a little more about me on my channel page. Well, that’s all for now. Take care!
Sincerely,
Amber
Fragility, visiting and socks Still feeling fragile today, but calmer, thank the Lord. Bearing in mind I’ve had a couple of wobbly sessions recently, I’ve decided to go back on the super-powered Vitamin B pills the doctor gave me and which I stopped taking – yes, foolishly, no doubt – about a month or so ago. Lord H was quick to agree, so the poor chap has obviously been bearing the brunt of my traumas. In noble silence. Again. So I’ve taken one today and we’ll see how I go.
At work, I am keeping my head down, avoiding getting involved with anything remotely resembling a lost professor and typing up my minutes from yesterday. Not to mention feeling my way through the Marketing stuff. Ho hum ... Read Full Post

Speed Demons & the Ever Approaching Horizon I looked up today, red eyed, and realized I've written 167,000 brand new words in 7 and a half months. The novel is now 27,000 words longer than the original and the ending is still a little way off. I've written a brick, God help me, and I was having quite the flap until the agent emailed me recently to ask about progress. That made the flap go away for a bit because hell, at least I have an interested party to send the damn thing to (plenty don't, I know). However, I still can't shake the niggling feeling I'm doing something wrong, like writing this much over the 100,000 word mark is akin to committing a cardinal sin or something. Read Full Post
There's a hole in my bucket.. Posted on 18/03/2008 by MarlaD I know I'm not alone with the whole lost in the madness of reality hit..but you don't get consumed in someone elses, do you..alongside maybe, but not in it..it's a private, lonely affair..
Then you have the reality of madness..which is where I'm at..or at least my Dad is..

Bugger of a morning today – I’ve really utterly hated it. Lord but I could do with another job. To be frank. I mean, ye gods, but do I seriously have to do another 20 years of this??? God help us all!! There was lots of stuff dumped on me in which I have zilch interest, and huge amounts of meetings nightmares, including double meetings for those who can’t attend the first set and rescheduling of things so distant I have no real idea what they are. Not only that but everyone seemed to change their minds at least twice as to what they actually wanted or tell me different things from different sides of the fence. Deep deep sigh. And it also appears that things I had no idea were my responsibility apparently are. Dammit ... Read Full Post
And A Good Time Was Had By All! On Friday I had the privilege of visiting Lytton House, the Junior Department of Putney High School, and giving a reading of Uncle Alonzo’s Beard to the Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 children, before answering their questions about the book, My Freaky Family (the series that Alonzo belongs to), publishing and writing in general. I also had the chance to introduce them to Great Uncle Fred – another member of the family – and his most unusual pet!
The girls were a delightful and enthusiastic audience – very attentive during the readings and full of interesting questions afterwards. I’m only sorry that there wasn’t enough time to answer all of them before the session was over! I definitely got the impression that there were more than a few budding authors, illustrators and future publishers out there... :-)

First Date Nerves Posted on 18/03/2008 by Myrtle I have changed my mind, Doctor Olay, I do not want younger-looking skin.
You remember how it used to be: you're fifteen (32) and the boy (literary agent) you've fancied for ages (done a redraft for and exchanged some promising emails with) has finally asked you out (invited you into the office)... Read Full Post
