Give me a canvas
sable brush
I will paint
a masterpiece.

Give me a pot
roller entwined
what do you get?

Paint on the ceiling
paint on the walls
paint on the carpets
paint on the doors

Splashed in my hair
splashed on the dog
stupid creature
silly old sod.

Still I venture
time running out
visitors coming
they all shout

Hi....
Bloody hell.

You've really got a weird sense of humour Alice, bit like my own really. This is brilliant, couldn't stop giggling all the way through. It's not often I look at poetry just lately as I seem to have gone off it a bit for the time being, but this one I couldn't resist.

or, to paraphrase:

Give me some paper
ballpoint pen
I will write
a superb vignette

It must be a great pastime Painting and this poem really draws you into that moment ,real fun and clour without mentioning one hue!(there is the skill!)
One a labour of love another a labour!

You must have a dog called Spot?

Nice one Alice.

Alice, good one. I admire you - I steer well clear of paint of any description!

An example of chaos imitating art? You've combined two things I'd love to be able to do - paint and DIY! A witty piece!

Nice one,

Anthony

I so wish I could write like this.

How to combine poetry with fun?

Thank you for showing a way.

Laura
