So much she could see,
similar but disparate,
no doubt a representation of everything –
the extremes of salubrious security
spliced with dangerous decadence -
granite solidity tempered
with essence of firefly.

Good or bad,
disgrace or glory,
grey has no place when,
on a thread,
it hangs in the balance.

a fascinating piece, that made me re-read each line twice to make sure i'd read it correctly. there is an element of the fantastical/supernatural in this.

I like-actually was going to pick out a few lines and then found myself debating over practically every line-a testament to how inate each line is to one another in that I really find it impossible to split any of it to dissect and coomment independently of one another.

but if pushed it is the last stanza that really resonates the most for me:
"grey has no place when,
on a thread,
it hangs in the balance."

a brilliant piece, well delivered and has that special and rare quality of readmeagainandagainandagainandagain... -hate exclamation marks but feel one is needed here (!)

This was a piece that demanded the reader to come back to it a second time, and a third. This is a really fine poem.
