As Joanie says, brevity with a wealth of meaning. What I really like about it is how you've concisely spanned the spectrum between being driven to acceptance/resignation. It also works at a further level: victim/pursuer/conciliator. All in all, a tight, superbly-balanced poem.

Wonderfully succinct and it has that lovely bathos at the end. The sound of not taking ourselves too seriously! Great stuff.
