I do like haiku and I like this one -topical and leaves a funny visual image in my head!

I think this works rather well Joanie. Like the idea of the trees in homage, particularly since they are rather fabulous in themselves. Like the contrasting tone of the last two lines too.

I absolutely agree, it's as though the trees are worshipping the sun and begging for their summer glory to be returned to them.

Thank you, ladies! Much appreciated. We had a fantastic blue sky 'out there' today, and as I looked through the window at the trees, that was just what they were doing!

Great stuff, Joanie - I can see those trees. Enjoyed the seasonal references too. It carried a kind of spiritual depth with it - and made me think of the times when things have been bad and all you can do is go through the motions and wait for the "summer" to come back. I think it's a faith thing.
