I look around, Same old faces,
everyone with blank expressions trying to meet expectations.

No friendliness or unfriendliness, get this done, get that done.
Robot’s & work horses – that is all we are.

Everyone so concerned, with how good they are…
How do they look, does they’re boss really care?

Money, work, drink, successful,
These are the things that matter to these people…

Not family, not friends, not love…
Just intent on successfulness, at the cost .

Nothing but competitiveness,
producing nothing but emptiness.

Constantly expectant of bollockings,
Living and working in fear.

This is a day in life at an Investment bank..

There goes a career in money shoving for James. There are some great lines here and I enjoyed it, like a human Wildlife on One, just negated a little by 'they're'= 'their' and I'd o'said that maybe 'successful' could just be 'success.' And maybe the successfulness after that too, but I'm not so sure o' that one.

Anyways, bye!

James

This is the life of many an office worker; feeling trapped and threatened. I sometimes feel like this myself. Although in my case, it's because I'd sooner be at home writing! Luckily enough I get quiet times like today which gives me the chance to catch up with Writewords!

Feel this very eloquently captures that feeling of boredom and drive.

A nice, moody piece!

I know your world, "O". Darwin would have loved
it!
Seduce the brightest and best to enter and then
make them feel failures.

A very true piece of writing on a strange and
tough career for most.

Hope you have now found some balance in such an
unforgiving environment.
