Let’s face it - it’s pretty cool to be a man. You can pee upright, have a significantly larger alcohol-to-body-mass ratio and go grey, distinguishably.
Furthermore, you escape childbirth the covert warfare with hair and the relentless struggle with cellulite. And, who wants to be a sodding hen when you could be a stag?
But hey, here’s the thing women get to wear makeup! And no matter how scarey the mirrored face you can polyfiller the cracks, mascara to disguise the fact that your eyes bear an uncanny resemblance to pissholes in the snow, And finally, the infallible trick - a slick of lipstick (red is best).
Perhaps god wasn’t such a bitch afterall.

Walrus, for someone this made me think of being a child, and wanting 'big thighs', and thinking 'once I have a bra everything will be perfect. 'So. of course, it is now. Many big thighs. Many big bras. Or bigger than I wanted..
<Added>
Ooops.meant ' for some reason'. Oh, and I enjoyed the poem too..

The Walrus, for the record, it is bloody great being a man! We can pee upright and sat down with equal comfort and we can wear make up or grow beards to hide any wrinkles and tings, so it's even better than you've portrayed. I am so glad I'm a man! Once again, you've made me giggle like a schoolkid reading this, especially the 'pissholes in the snow' line, that's what my eyes look like all the time, so me Dad's always telling me. I've made a mental note, 'MUST TRY MASCARA', just to see if it really works, this will be it's ultimate test!
I'm not going to read any more now tonight, so that I go to bed laughing about how cool it is to be a man and not a woman! Childbirth - OOOOOO! No thanks, I'm a man!
Thanks
Don

the 'covert warfare with hair..." made me chuckle, as did "who wants to be a sodding hen when you can be a stag"-brillant and very witty-a litle poke at both sexes perhaps...
walrus really enjoyed this, great strong rythm to this that caries you along ffelt almost as if i could hear and see someone reading this poem to me, because the tone of it is so strong
a fun piece xlaura

I guess she made us pretty equal, when you weigh up the pros and cons of both sides. Great light hearted piece, just the tonic on these dark november eves.
Thanks, Carlton

Thanks. Yeah Jules, I like to think it's balanced (in favour of course). Glad it made you chuckle Red Mum. Elsie, interesting response. How many thighs do you have and is there such a thing too big(ger?) breasts??? Joanie, yes, you are soooo right. Mascara is indispensible(sp). Don, OK OK, so men can wear makeup (hopefully sans beard), but let's face it, it's not really the norm. I mean, I'm not prejudice, but it still staunchly remains the female domain. And, yes, do try Mascara (if you absolutely insist), it really does work. Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for commenting. Still think it's cooler to be a woman btw. Thanks Laura, bit of a poke, yes. Just a gender silliness take. Carlton, equal? Ok, I guess so lol. Thanks.
