Lost in a world of what should have been
the thought that you loved me now seems obscene
From the hopes and fears that lie here within
the hardest admission is that I was lost in a dream.
There's no rhyme or reason, or justified feeling,
falsehood bourne of dreaming has left me unbelieving.
Time to step back from this foolish kaliedascope scene,
no more locked in the solitude I found in this dream.
Love is the answer, not wanting, nor scheming
and the courage to know that seeing is believing.
And now that I know some things are not what they seem
I will sleep and no more, and watch moonbeams creep in.
