I met some EASTENDERS while walking down CORONATION STREET, they said they were seeing FRIENDS in EMMERDALE they would meet.
Used to be their NEIGHBOURS when they lived in BROOKSIDE SONS and DAUGHTERS were HOME and AWAY that was no surprise.
FAMILY AFFAIRS got out of hand had to call in THE BILL, finished up in CASUALTY that was no big thrill.
DOCTORS sent them to the PRACTICE still with no reMORSE only a TOUCH OF FROST then HOMEWARD BOUND of course.

Alice, I watch only Eastenders, and every time I do, I think, "I'm not watching this anymore - it's a waste of time and far too depressing!" It's a terrifying thought that lots of people watch them ALL!. Oh no! ... Perhaps you do; you seem to know all the titles.
A good bit of fun. Is the snow still there?

Joan even I had to look these up. Never heard of sons and daughters, til it came up on an advert.
I am sad. Corrie and eastenders everyone knows whether you watch or not, they are on most nights.
Yes the snow is still here and freezing like mad.
Plenty of skiing on the slopes, sledging in my park all bloody hills here.

That's a relief, Alice! I really couldn't imagine you watching all those soaps!

Heheh, good one Alice, it made me laugh to see how you'd sledge-hammered 'Morse' in there.
Typo 'thier' = 'their' which is petty of me to point out, but I';m just trying to be helpful!
I especially enjoyed it when it developed the quite active punny storyline in the last two stanzas.
Bye!
James

I threw in a semi-colon there on a typo correction. The irony has flattened me like an SUV.

I'm not a big reader of poetry but this one had me smiling. Could be sent to the letters section of [Radio & TV Times?

James thanks. I missed the typo, made me cringe on such an easy word.
Glad it made you laugh.
My son said there was too many soaps on and I said not that many, until I checked it out.
Dotty poem for a dotty person like me.

Glad you liked it. I understand you not liking poetry as it can be too heavy, even for me.
I write how I feel,what happens in a day.
Like the snow one it was coming down as I was drawing the curtains.
10 Minutes tops for me to write a poem.
Months if I write a story which I am scared to put on WW.

roovacrag, I can't believe I've only just found this poem of yours! I must have been mashed last night when I was on here! This is a little gem, I'm going to call me Mum and read it to her, she'll love it! I think she'll like the third verse best of all, because it sounds just like one of her familys' do's!
I don't do the soaps meself, although I just saw a clip of Dev on Corrie getting his ass blown up by the mad woman, who just so happens to be a bit of alright, so I might watch it in a bit.
Nice works roovacrag!
Thanks
Don

Don,glad you and your mum liked it.
Give her a kiss and hug from me. Nice to have a new fan.
Was my son who said more soaps than football.
Hence the poem. He won.
I like poems that come out of the blue.
