Summary: Slightly infatuated by this intriguing lady .Well I like the older woman but 350 years old is taking things a little too far.The Milkmaid is a very accessible picture.(on many a website) I tried to make it enjoyable even without her image ,but have I succeeded?

Gravity is coaxed by gripped finesse,
with the powered tilt of a womans arm.
She does hold a perfect pour through jug lips.

The milkmaid`s manna made on earth`s patient plain.
Life`s hurried excitments;away from her days.
duty bound to the manor born:Etiquette too refrain.

You work for those who are or, to be,
but for you a simple stay.
That has more than a hint of majesty.

Outside lends light through a transparent glass wall.
Peeps in to illuminate, your eminence.
The humble cobbles of bread imitate, a luminescent gem stall.

Your passion inwardly kept, offered up as kindness!
When thrown to the surface always controlled.
The rolled over-sleves showing your considered tidiness.

Yellow turns to gold,of your bodice.
Fine thread see the luminary?
With the sun rays,like tiny fonts it manifests.

Mix of matter of your over-skirt,
blue and black get wrapped,
today perpetuates ;chores scruff and dirt.

The gleaming brass basket kept for best in residence,
proud to be enlightened with you,a parade of shades,
Solar tones ,placed on your face,no indifference.

So Mr Vermeer,is it true ,the milk maid to view
to show of her wide character,of strength and steadfast,
that she was a mistress ,so meant more to you?

So a good composition with excellent sense of perspective.
Has a good idea of perception?
To show temperance,grace or beauty of an ordinariness.

I think you have Patrick. An enchanting and detailed portrayal, viewed with a sensitive eye. I could visualise her well.

Fascinating.

Lawrenco..good piece here. Glad you like the older woman, sorry not that old lol.

Every stanza was good here and was a tribute to the milkmaid.

Think she was a real woman ,not a painters dream.

Many painters see then paint.
Done it myself. I remember this painting . Was a great painting.

Well done friend.

Thanks Red, for your succinct considered exlanation. I`m happy that you saw the picture in your mind.I feel none the less that I should describe her head wear to finish of properly.
I really enjoyed doing this poem in a way it`s like how tricks play on your mind and come up as creative output.Somehow culminating as fulfillment.

Thanks Alice ,I`m happy you commented because I know that you are a painter and it`s interesting that you thought that painters see then paint.
Vermeer was one of the masters of perspective giving an almost 3D effect no fancy glasses or lazers just immense skill.
Much apprieciated.

Patrick, I think you portrayed her very well. I had to have another look at the painting, which was good because you made me look in more detail but also at the whole.

I enjoyed it. I love your descriptions.

Patrick,

It's interesting that - "Outside lends light through a transparent glass wall.
Peeps in to illuminate, your eminence." - only the natural things, the light from outside, seems to recognize the ordinary greatness of people who do hard work day after day.

This is a great line. I enjoyed the alliteration. "The gleaming brass basket kept for best in residence,"

Good work here Patrick.

Some potential fixes:

'womans arm' --> 'woman's arm'
'The milkmaids manna made on earths patient plain' --> 'The milkmaid's manna made on earth's patient plain'
'Lifes hurried' --> 'Life's hurried'
'oversleves' --> 'over-sleeves'?
'skruff' --> 'scruff'
'ment' --> 'meant'

The Godfather,
I`m happy that you enjoyed the poem,I suppose it isn`t going to be the establishment that is going to see the greatnes of her ordinariness;I suppose the light is a form of natural make-up.

Thanks for the typos!!! Always apprieciated.
