Terror
To leave love alone
to let go the string
to untie the rope,
to drink the last drop
to close the open door
to show the long way,
to say goodbye once
to hear what is said
to offer no reply,
to stare past the look
to not feel their touch
to be the swimmer
to taste the undertow,
to know another room
to be a foreign place
to leave love alone.
