Twin Peak

( For full enjoyment please have Loaded (Andy Weatherall remix) by primal scream ready to play in your stereo, adjust volume to loud, DO NOT PLAY UNTILL PROMPTED!)

Dear reader,
You are most welcome to join me on a journey. Not your average journey you understand, something a little bit special, a little bit short. Before starting this small jaunt I would like to point out all emergency procedures and escape routes ( Just think of air stewards/stewardesses doing that quirky little show before lift off). E.g. If the plane should crash and burn remember to put on skimpy yellow piece of plastic, fill with air and blow whistle…

1) In case of fatigue - put down book, close eyes, sleep, wake, continue reading
2) In case of excessive alcohol consumption - close one eye, continue reading.
3) In case of possible incontinence, use - , a) loo, b) toilet, c) commode, d) colostomy bag ( feel free to make use of more than one convenience), continue reading.
4) In case of mental breakdown - Three years of therapy, copious amounts of antipsychotic medication, change thought process, continue reading.
5) In case of death of - a) close family member:- bury, grieve for 3 months, continue reading.
b) distant relative:- watch burial, grieve for 1 - 3 months, continue reading
c) stranger:- frown for 3 seconds, continue reading
d) imagination, free thought, contemplation:- discard book, legalise suicide, kill yourself

You guessed it, my guide is comparable as line dancing is to ballet, possibly functional but in no way elegant.
Why then, I hear you ask, are you writing it. My only available answer is quite simply… Unrestriction.

How many thoughts a day run through the human mind? It is impossible to work out ( same as twin peaks, only slightly easier)
P.s. for those of you who haven’t seen twin peaks, don’t bother. The prequel, single peak, was much better.

Back to the question. How many minds run through a single thought?

Exercise 1-warm up
Take a single word (chicken), and let it run…

Chicken-leg-foot-athlete-hurdle-leap-frog-river-sea-earth-sun-moon-stars-galaxy-universe-meaning of life-sex

Make sense? To me dear reader, yes, it does. I wonder how many minds have run through that exact thought? Probability suggests that if it has not already happened, given a long enough time scale, it will. Someone somewhere has, or will, think that exact thought. Want that lottery win? Simple, become immortal, use same set of numbers (speed things up a little!), wait.
The math:
Lets just say that there are (for the single peak fan) three different numbers.
123
Here are the combinations, come on down the price is right!
123, 132, 213, 231, 312, 321
With six different combinations you will hit 123 once in every six turns, Probably!

A cup of infinite possibilities anyone?

Recipe:-
Take one mind, soak in information for as long as possible. Carefully stir in some independent thought, awareness and drive. Once thoroughly mixed add a pinch of imagination, encase in a soul and bung the whole lot into a functioning body.
The perfect recipe for infinite possibilities. Or is it?

Impossible to say, originality and creation by an individual is often swept away on a broom of indifference. My point is that maybe, just maybe, other people would like to hear your thoughts, views, experiences and outlook. As the famous blind brain surgeon Labbo Tottotomy said “ Always put your brain on display, the feel is everything, without truly touching and shaping the contents it is just another bloody mess of nothingness”

Now please search your record collection and play:-
Track: Loaded (ANDY WEATHERALL REMIX).
Artist: PRIMAL SCREAM.

Relax. Inhale……..Exhale. Relax. (Repeat ´ length of track)

Think, interpret, share, smile.

Have a nice day,
ANDREW DAVIES ( sitting on the sofa, playing loaded by primal scream and having a very nice day!)

I came across this on the random reader and have to say it's bloody brilliant.

Maybe there are some typos maybe not I couldn't see anything through the laughter.

Excellent

Yeah, this is great! I forgot to laugh sometimes, but only because I was knotted up in how much sense it seemed to make (it is twenty to eleven).

I admit, I didn't play the track, but I still enjoyed it immensely, so thanks for the trip!

bye!

James

Cheers for the feedback Kal and Okkervil, sorry about the delay of thanks, or is it thanks of the delay? Perhaps I should just quit while I am ahead. but in the words of Labbo...

How many rails of coke did you blow before writing this? Regardless, it was funny. I agree with you that Twin Peaks sucked, who cares who shot:

Laura Palmer-Kyle Maclauchlin-Supermodels-doggy style-16 thousand dollars-4 team parlay-Detroit Lions-offense-sucks-my weekend was devastating-and now it's back to the dream of writing again.

Yeah, I betcha someone has thought the same way before.

Cheers,
Adam

Hi Wynne, Loaded is a great track. I thought the 'escape routes' at the start where a nice touch. Mind you, I loved Twin Peaks, the episode in which Waldo the minor bird got shot (he knew too much) was a favourite...

all the best

Ben

Once again thanks for your comments, cheers. I do have a confession to make- I have never actually seen twin peaks! If you look at the story there is very little referance to the film\and or series. I just liked the sound of the title and needed a theme to hold the mishmash together.
