Through the Looking Glass

A sideways view
with stomach pulled in
tight
or frontal -
full, that is.
Depending on the outfit,
either might be best.

To find out
whether you should
pose with
legs together or
one slightly
in front of the other,
toes at five to one,
you need
a mirror;
a full length one,
not an over-the-wash-basin,
head and shoulders
only.

Ideally, one with
lots of space in front,
so that you can walk
towards it, hips swaying
sexily, Marilyn Monroe
in your head.

They don't have
full length mirrors
in the Gents.

... so I am led to believe.

Hi Joanie. No they don't.
Is the gents through the looking glass?
A deceptively simple poem.

Liked it.

Thanks, Bill. 'Deceptively simple' is what I try to achieve, I suppose!
Thanks for responding.

Brilliant musings Joanie! Captured a really everyday human activity which we don't normally think twice about.

I also particularly liked the Marilyn stanza!

Fab!

joanie, you're right about the mirrors in the gents and it can be really frustrating when you want to see if your pants are 'hanging' on your shoes correctly! I love the last line especially, like you've never been in there! Nice work joanie, it's cool!
