LOVE ON THE SAND

We walked along the sand hand in hand, we kissed on the beach arms outstretched to reach.
Made love in the sand dunes, made love in the sea, not a soul to be seen, just you and me.
Everything was perfect, so we thought then our lives turned around all was fraught.
Never give up hope just you and me, waking up now all was a dream.

'Never give up hope', Alice! Walking hand in hand on the sand is lovely.

Enjoyed the rhythm of this poem Alice: this sounds like the kind of dream to fall back to sleep for ;-) when the pain of reality hits. Love Nikki x

Alice,
fraught...Good word. You create a pleasant little scene here. Dreams are so very real and enjoyable. A free pleasure.

Alice, you make poems that take the reader to a point of beauty, happiness and perfection, then shatter the reader with the final conclusion. I don't know how you do it, but I like it, so don't stop. It's like Ingmar Bergman is writing poetry, fine, fine, stuff you've got going on there.
Paticularly* liked:
"Everything was perfect,
so we thought"
* Can't stand the word particular: I need an alternate :(

this poem was from one of my paintings. should be a naked sand, but molly barked and my brush shot up the canvas hence 2 people on the sand.
Rest was from memory love.
Glad you liked it.
