A very deep and thought provoking piece, I like the way you repeat the first line at the end, making black a good thing in among all the bad things.

This one is right along the fine line Paul man! As someone who has studied about racism and tings in some depth, I found this to be a clever and provocative piece of work, in that it's not always clear where you are coming from, as it is full of negative stereotypical images of black peoples, but the last few lines appear to clear that up. I enjoyed reading that, nice one.

Shouldn't it be 'knotty' or 'natty' dread? Or is the 'nutty' dread a reference to the institutionalisation of Rastafari brethren in psychiatric hospitals because of their belief in the divinity of HIM Haile Selassie I? If it was, very clever indeed!

Thanks for the comments. Institutionalised racism is a major problem in our society. Everything seems to be colour first and then...........

"Nutty dread" is really from my youth. It was something I regularly heard said in the youth clubs I attended.

We are all just people and people who believe colour maketh the man sicken me.
