TAUNT

What of the taunt I lay before you,
wallowing in dust cloths
mellowing like a peach amongst the branches
tasting fruit to see if bitter or sweet.

Succulent to to touch
succulent to taste
will the aftermath of the fruit
linger..or be distate
past memory or a fruitful one.

I like this Alice. Makes me think of Oranges, in particular; the way you can spend all that time peeling one and then you find it's bitter not sweet :-(

Love nikki

NB 'succulent to the touch' ? / 'distaste' ?

Alice,

Wonderful images here. Maybe I'm getting Freudian on the world today but I picked up on another breeze of thought blowing through the trees. The taunting. The fruit is so taunting. And the comparison between fruits past tasted. Truly great work here.

Goddy many thanks for your comments, yes my fruit trees taunt me. No plums.4 cherries,1 apple.
Yet my lemon tree is giving me 30 lemons when only she give me one.

Think they are in a union, all or nothing.

xx Alice
