Summary: I wrote this the morning after a sleepless night, a bottle of rhum and loads of talking about love and what it means.

To be in love (or out of it)
It's a state of mind
Particularly if
you don't mind
being in a.... state!

To be in love (or out of it)
It's a state of mind
Especially when
alone in the bus,
you remember and smile.

To be in love (or out of it)
It's a state of mind
your heart is my favourite state
And I am your lucky president...
..You don't mind, do you?

Mmma.... to be in love is a wealth beyond price.
costs nothing,but is a richness beyond compare.
Once gone and forgotten,then your poor again.

Only the dreams can bring the richness back again.

cheeky and wise
being in that state yes so much a state of mind and thus surely a choice...?and then 'it' happenss and any sense of choice seems to have been swiped away from you so i love that end "you don't mind do you?" very wry, very dry
great poem enjoyed it a lot and all the more when i re-read it

'State of mind' or perhaps in other words your response is what counts, not the circumstances.
