Two figures stand
in a moonlit meadow
holding hands, facing
each other, until one walks,
leaving desperate outstretched hands.
Her bright blue eyes
reflected the moonlight,
and twinkled with stars,
as she cries out her
broken heart.
She loves him still,
he’ll never stop loving her,
they were true to each other
but she sabotaged
her very own heart.
She didn’t listen to logic,
she didn’t listen to her heart,
she listened to the doubt,
the paranoia, she told herself
she was unlovable.
