Is it fun being two, is the world a big place?
Fairy stories in eiderdown tickling your face.
Are there goblins and elves at the end of your bed
Spinning promises for you in fine golden thread?
Are there make believe dragons which fly in your mind
Breathing wishes of fire on all they can find?
Is everything new and exciting and bold
With no thoughts of tomorrow to make you grow old?
Is snow an adventure in mountains of ice?
Do owls and doves speak of great paradise?
And the sea, never ending, can swallow it all.
And a cloud is a train or a dog with a ball.
Rainbows are angels, their wings in the sky,
With stars for their haloes, the moon for their smile.
And when days lead to evenings do shadows hold dread,
Or do ghosts smile a place for a weary young head?

Kaydee welcome to WW.
Well done with this. I have grandson the same age and the world is a large one and so exciting to wallow in the wonders of it.

Well done.

xx Alice

Hi Kaydee. I enjoyed your poem - it reminded me of my sons when they were that age.
I like the idea of rainbows being angels wings. I haven't heard of that idea before. Loved the kindness of the last lines, "And when days lead to evenings do shadows hold dread,
Or do ghosts smile a place for a weary young head?

Well done.
