Why do you think I am lonely? I am not. Ilove life to the full, don't need anyone, not even you.
I got a clean sheet not your copy, just mine, not sloppy. don't write on it.
I want a love, not yours. Just leave me alone, go away, stay away, leave me be.

Oh, Alice! I sense something underlying here. I can see you saying this, and I don't even know what you look like!
Mmmm... I don't know about this one ... I don't really think that you want to be left alone.
I liked it!

Makes a point for sure Alice! And I would feel for the person on the receiving end of emotion like this: i.e. do wonder how the other side/s of the story might sound... (?) Yes, as joanie suggests a dramatic piece. Nikki

Alice, this was a surprise - I don't think I'd have guessed that it was yours. Intriguing, as I always feel sure that your poems are written from the heart. It's odd isn't it, that although on WW few of us have met or know much that's concrete about each other, that in a way our writing tells us more than the people we meet each day ever know about us. The second stanza hits hard - I can almost see you here. Good writing.
Nell.

This personal piece kinda reminds me of 10CC's 'I'm not in love', i.e. denial of that which you want or need (or both).
This poem has a voice of frustration, indeed desperation. Trouble is, there is no voice in reply.
The 'clean sheet' analogy strongly resonates, as if starting over again. Trouble with clean sheets is that they are often folded up, and flung afar, like an aeroplane.
Write on, Fearless

Joan thanks for comment.
I was surprised at the comments i got on this.
I am alone, have been for 11 years now after my husband died. Loved him and still do. However, I am not really alone have son and 3 grandsons. Never been lonely, too much to do.
This was about someone else.

Nell thanks for comment. It's not me. I do write from the heart when I talk about love. Mostly as I still remember the times I had a passion for the man I loved and still do. After 11 years without him, I can assure you I have never had another man.
Doesn't mean,
I can't remember the passionate moments. ;))

A strong clear voice speaking here Stan. Some people simply can't resist telling other people what to do! This can be so irritating, not to say overbearing! I find a polite **** off normally does the trick.

...not quite the way I would wish to be immortalised, but point taken.
