Turbulent being
Posted: 10 July 2004 Word Count: 51 Summary: About a guy I work with. Paradoxical and beguiling.

Amorphous soul splintered by expectation and the need to repel. Your urge to rebel is deafening - a knee-jerk of panicked hysteria assimilated as defiance.
Self-denigration is spun - doctored to become the chiding mask of resentment. No contentment is sought as kick-in-the-gut assault engenders more feeling.
I feel your hatred

Bobo, hello there... I found this a 'spitty' poem in emotion and sound: perhaps it's all the 'sp' 't' sounds that thread through it... Which seems apt for a 'hatred' poem. I like the way that 'being' holds a double meaning here. Regards, Miffle

Nicola - yes, definitely 'spitty' - that's kind of what the person I was writing about is like - so I'm glad it came across like that.

Spitty yes. Spitful even. Beautifully bitter Bobo.
Feel inclined to be devil's advocate - perhaps the chap needs a Big Hug, after all it's not much fun working in a frilly thong (sorry, sorry, that was a different conversation!)
Not sure about amorphous/splintered, could be oxymoronic, but Hey it sounds good. You hint at some possible positives in his character, or at least reasons - failed [i[expectation (in life generally?). Repelling and self-denigrating out of insecurity?
No you're right, he's a pillock.
Regards, Kipper.

Kipper - thanks for commenting. I agree - he probably does need a big hug, but at the same time he needs an even bigger kick somewhere painful! Yes, the oxymoron was intentional - I thought it was in keeping with the guy's paradoxical 'personality'.
Cheers
