Why cajole a man
who isn't yours,
perhaps because
you can't get your source.
They say grass is greener
on the other side.
Just a fallacy,
fantasy,not life.
A man is a man,
not a God.
Like any other
silly old sod.
Pie in the sky
A dream among dreams,
don't we all want
that Knight for our needs.

This is a strident piece... loved the middle two stanzas... so many people catapulting themselves into imaginary futures - there are only ever two choices... accept or change. Nothing in between. 'Silly old sods' indeed, them and us... just take ourselves too seriously.

What is a knight? Just a perception perhaps? Is a person the sum total of the perceptions of all those who know him/her - or more, or less? All I can say is, beware poets bearing lyrics.
