My father, myself, our holy ghost.

Saddling the landscapes entrance
the bridge of Glen Rosa spans the beck
as it panics downhill, hard pressed.
My father, myself, our holy ghost.
Past present and future resting their bones
on the passing cairns of each others flesh,
frozen avalanches of stones held in balance.
twin towers of journey, lighthouses of souls.

I realise I am probably being a little thick but could I trouble you to explain this to me in greater detail. My problem here is that I'm having trouble relating to your poem accordingly think I must be in an incorrect/alien mindset.

Thank you
Felmagre.

Hello John.
A fine exposition of filial continuity set in a memorable, remembered landscape. I liked it a lot. Maybe prefer "burn" to the northern English "beck" given the geographical context? - Robert Becks will be turning in his grave! (sorry) - though I enjoyed it's hard pressed panicking. More-than fond remembrances beautifully set, far improves upon a photograph, and given a monumental, eternal quality.
Thank you.
Graham.

Ah, now that the 'beck' has been explained I am not so puzzled.

John, beautiful, poignant too, I loved these lines: My father, myself, our holy ghost.
Past present and future resting their bones/on the passing cairns of each other's flesh,
- it's as if they've become part of the landscape itself, and ...lighthouses of souls... makes an inspiring image and thought with which to end the poem.

Nell.
