Their scent imbues the air with jasmine
their flavour fuses –
salt of appetite with syrup of life,
their texture touches cheek with smoothest peach,
their haunting melody quivers its essence
through man and woman alike.

Time is blindfolded as I bathe
in the warm water of your words.

I love the thought that 'time is blindfolded'; 'I bathe in the warm water of your words'. Lovely; I can feel myself drifting.......

Hi Walrus,

Lovely choice of words. Particularly liked the last two lines.
Also, great use of aliteration.

Red

A letter from one lover of lyrical language to another, shaking the foundation of the Earth, but at the same time, rustling the leaves in the trees that I see. Gentle, tingling the senses and sweet. I adore the last two lines, for expression such as this is timeless.

Write on,

Fearless

'Gifted': great title! You are gifted, the lyricist is gifted - and words and expression are gifted: often the most heartfelt (and therefore treasured) gifts that we can give. Oh, and they're also free - not a bad deal really! All the best, Miffle

I loved it! Well done C. Very sensual. Particularly loved the line about time being blindfolded, when 2 people join together - time becomes meaningless only the moment matters. That said, time is always the enemy as Rutger Hauer ad-libed in bladerunner

'memorys lost, like tears in the rain.'

Thanks Pete, liked your paradoxical thoughts on 'time' and the wonderful quotation.

Thanks for commenting.
