Like a ghost who isn’t dead
Like stillborn with a pulse
I feel through your eyes
but die in mine

Like a duet with no partner
Like a waltz without a rhythm
Running down the track
I cannot see the line

Like rhetoric with answers
Like stories without sentences
The words flow through my mind
but get stuck in my throat

Like music without sound
Like thunder without lightning
Everything’s going in infinite circles,
it just doesn’t make sense

Rai, this is a touching poem. I want to say to the speaker - 'wait, you are complete in yourself, stop, be calm for a moment, walk away from the turmoil of thoughts, go to the park, sit in the sun, look at the beauty of the flowers, the sky, be quiet, be still, be centred, for although you are part of everything, and everything is part of you, although we are all connected, you are whole, in and of yourself.' There, see what you've done! A strong poem to have caused such an outburst - write on!

Nell.

Lovely piece Rai, catching the paradoxical nature of life itself.

Another enjoyable find on Random Read. I liked this. I would have liked it more if second stanza was made the last - the poem ends better [stronger]with "I cannot see the line".
