Where were you writewords
Worked so hard,so much.
Sent to publishers
to be rebuffed.
Where were you writewords?

I wrote with passion,
wrote with vigour,
even my ditty
got a slight snigger.

I needed help,
show me the way,
critisise my work
as you do with grace.

Novels gather dust
too late for my scripts,
too old to be bothered
lost the jist.

Now i write poetry
childrens tales too,
also have writewords
where comments are cool.

Alice, aah, this is a beautiful poem. Have you kept all your material from so long ago? Dig it all out, and show us all how it's done.

Lovely Alice, It's true WW is a real support system but at least you haven't given up writing altogether.

Hi Alice

A lovely little poem which sums up the site perfectly. And good to see you've continued writing and persevered.

Alice, I agree completely - wonderful sentiments and aptly put.

Absolutely, Alice. I have said many times - WW is brilliant. The encouragement and support are excellent. I remember last year, the Radio Times did an article entitled "Poetry - the new Prozac". Whether writing or reading, it IS a great medium - a cure for all ills!

Hi Alice,

This is a beautiful poem.

I love the voice, one we all can relate to.

I’m still smiling now.

Thanks for posting,

Dawn,

Very late to this, but can only agree with everyone else; this is a beautiful paean to our favourite (and the best) writers' website. Keep scribbling.

Best,

Mike
