Here and Now

The road to yesterday
is closed -
debris,
such bitter torment,
is strewn along the way.
The path to yesteryear
has gone -
its joys,
then oh-so heartfelt,
are rasping whispers to my ear.
Tomorrow calls - sweet melody.
Its notes,
all new,
resound.
My mind floats
toward its promise -
the place where hope
is to be found.
The past has passed.
is closed -
debris,
such bitter torment,
is strewn along the way.
The path to yesteryear
has gone -
its joys,
then oh-so heartfelt,
are rasping whispers to my ear.
Tomorrow calls - sweet melody.
Its notes,
all new,
resound.
My mind floats
toward its promise -
the place where hope
is to be found.
The past has passed.
