Summary: Poem expressing my love of string instruments

Did you know
That I love the sound of a string,
Those instruments that sing?
Like human voices,
Left with no choices.
But to air their hearts,
Their innermost parts.

Did you know
That the violin can weep,
And send the world to sleep,
Dazed? On harmony, discord
And its melancholic chord.
Whilst cellos murmur mellow mantras,
Like strumming-pained guitars.

Hi libera, the words in this poem zither like the strings that you describe. I really liked it. Lines 2 & 3 from the 1st stanza and the first lines from the 2nd stanza, really struck a chord [pun], no seriously, they did.

I think this is a really elegant poem, and you haven't ruined it by stretching it too long or anything. A perfect length for a perfect poem.

Right, I'll have to listen to some Jacqueline Du Pre now, or maybe Schubert's Death And The Maiden.
