Eventually, cinemas will die.
people will stay at home
with their 46" plasma screen
and twelve-speaker
surround-sound.
The Movie House
will join the music hall
in the anals of
entertainment history
and the streets will be
deserted -

Beanie, I love the surprise of the last line, so true too. It's something to imagine a future like that, but I hope you're wrong!

Nell.

Typo alert: anals 'annals'

Beanie, succinct, bittersweet. Nicely written.

If I may wax...

I've more so-called 'hope' for the existence of the movie house (though not for the survival of the small to medium-sized place that shows quality films for adult audiences). If you'd been to my local megaplex this weekend, you'd see it full of under-10 years olds for whom it is a mini amusement park, games arcade, junk food heaven and -- oh, yeah -- some movies are showing there as well: 6 screens showing children's films, 3 screens of teen schlock, and 1 screen with only 2 showings of a film for minds over 9.

I think the sites may actually live on but, as you say, they won't be what they used to be.

... and now, I wane.

Good stuff, provokes thought,

Smith
