As soon as I read the title, I thought of Waikiki, so much so that I searched on the internet and found,
"From a height of thirty stories, watch the parade of colors that is Waikiki by day, or revel in the radiance of Waikiki by night."
(webcam)
I think it fits, somehow.....

Perfectly sums up a time and place and for those of us who are the right age to appreciate it, makes one blush.. Kajagoogoo is a word just made for haiku isn't it?

Fantastic! Though I remember days when the dancefloor filled when Kajagoogoo came on so I must be getting old! You certainly have a way with haiku - terrific simplicity, a good central situation and great wit which i think is often the key to a good haiku.
