This is all too true.
A poem are feelings,words expressed as you could never do in any other way.
Poems come when you least expect them.
Whip one up in a minute or wait for days till you get it right.
Most of mine are in minutes.

Joanie,
I'm considering having a go at this...you make it look so easy, and I'm sure its not!!
I think it has a slight flavour of Wendy Cope's 'The Uncertainty of the poet' , especially at the end..the idea of definitions I suppose.

off to study my baked bean tin...!

tc, I know what you mean! - I was putting some oregano in my ratatouille (as you do!) and I found myself reading the label - they are very interesting - and poetic!

I think you will agree that when looking for a found poem the words seem to leap off the page at you and even perhaps the most innocuous looking pice can be a gold mine

I think this is another good source of poetic vision and a very useful stimulant for creativity
