Alice, a mixture of feelings here. I am glad the you have used the word 'entrusted' in your title - this suggests to me the responsility of Loving, the sacredness of Love.
'things do matter' - yes, in Love we must be awake - give attention. 'long gone/ mind shattered' - looking back, the breakdown of mind in the face of loss.
'like two spoons / when we lay' - I see two people one their sides slotting curves together like silver spoons in a velvet case. One is facing forwards, the other is cuddling their back. I love the security of cuddling someone's back but, did wonder, if you wanted them face to face (?).
'feel the beat/ entrusted to you' - yes, Loving is surely one of the biggest responsibilities we take on in life... Anything where the Heart is involved is a major responsibility - you are dealing with the sacred...
'Sleep enfolds' - gentle image. 'both at rest' 'both at rest' the repetition works well - real sense of peace.
