To some it seems sex is just an itch to scratch, I've never really understood that. Though each to their own and so on. I think you've captured the distance between the two very well and 'Love' is beautiful - like the 'LOVE IS ALL' line gives the previous lines a real punch.

Hmmmm, lust is perhaps about the self, whereas love is about you and others. Liked it.

Yes, I think you're right - love is about others. I liked it too.

'Love or Lust' - if, as the title suggests, there is a choice to be made then it is obvious that you come firmly down on the Love side - 'All you need is Love'... Love and sex are both sacred - we only hurt ourselves when we don't remember this. I think that the Media is much to blame for separating the two so much. Yet, it seems, it is possible to be in lusty in love! Write on, Miffle

Take your point. When it comes to love or lust, sure, love wins hands down BUT you gotta have the lust thing going too (which of course you have implied).
In the absence of the love thing, lust is not, as perhaps a temporary state, a bad alternative. It is much maligned and seriously underrated. Lust is a good healthy human thing. It is a basic instinct. Of course, the many and varied circumstances of such a situation are important.
So, just to be controversial, would strongly endorse the first stanza, but think you have come down rather harshly on lust in the second stanza.
Think Fearless' comment is very true and would also add that love is sustainable, and that lust (ie without the love bit), rarely is.
There again, what do I know?!
It is a good one Stan. Very thought provoking.
