Your voice remembered sounds Like a whisper of the night. Soft and low it flows. Hushed so that I might Feel your presence here Beyond the light.
Your face remembered there, Shadowed, like a distant dream. Close and yet beyond me As time now stands between Your heart and mine, And so it seems
That this, now sacred memory, Is all I have to hold me tight. Is all I can remember As evening draws the fading light And I am left alone In dead of night.

Very moving,Romantic,I loved the Line " Close and yet beyond me."
The last stanza gives the poem a particular chekhov style poignancy ,that gives it a unsettling but aproachable thread.-I hope there is good news to come in this siloliquy ,well done and welcome to ww.

Beautiful, haunting poem. Very atmospheric (if there is such word!) I particularly enjoyed the second stanza.

Hello Emma,
Well done, a beautiful piece. Losing someone close can be tough, more than those who have not might realise. This a gentle evocation of how it feels, simple, unadorned and therefore genuine.
Don't change a line or phrase, it was right when you wrote it and will remain so.
