As each second pricks,
I will each minute to vanish,
to banish each hour,
for the days to grow wings and fly -
until you inhabit my living fantasy
see me spread and raw -
my being.

My stomach’s seat -
a simmering,overflowing cauldron
enveloping me, drowning me -
a vacillating, compulsive motion.

And, if
I could
just bridge
that gap
between
now and then.

My eyes sweep shut -
a minefield of imagination
springs.
My fingers touch
my languid lips
and as I throw back my head
I laugh out loud
and wonder why
I wish
my life away.

A rollercoaster of feeling, travelling from the arctic to the equator in terms of temperature sensation around the neck, spine - everywhere. A voluntary, delicious insanity of imagining....anticipation. I see part schoolgirl butterflies, and part Barbarella knowing of being a woman in anticipation. A classic. Write on,

I see this as that interminable wait as you watch the minute hand click round as you wait for something which you fear to happen and then when it happens it is relief and joy you feel not pain or fear. good imagery

take care

All good things come to those who wait...
Very seasonal, the scent of spring through a long winter.

Excellent

David, thanks, spot on comment. Glad you liked it!

Em, phew! Would have felt dreadful if you didn't like it! And, err, thanks for your far too kind words.

Cinq, yes this is true, but on the other hand, patience can be soooo dull.... Can feel a carpe diem poem coming on.
