Can a light that shone so bright just go out
Should I love you less because you’re gone
Can a flame that grew so high, just die
And without you should I learn to carry on
No, no, I can’t let go
It’s not that easy
Ask me to plead and I’ll get on my knees
And do it
No, no, I can’t let go
Can’t stop you leaving
But God only knows how much
I want you to stay
Can future without you take the place
Of a past based on a future with you
Should I forget all that I’ve known
And throw away the part of me that’s you
Should I love you less because you’re gone
Can a flame that grew so high, just die
And without you should I learn to carry on
No, no, I can’t let go
It’s not that easy
Ask me to plead and I’ll get on my knees
And do it
No, no, I can’t let go
Can’t stop you leaving
But God only knows how much
I want you to stay
Can future without you take the place
Of a past based on a future with you
Should I forget all that I’ve known
And throw away the part of me that’s you
