If you ever get the chance, Roger, read "The Elephant's Journey" by José Saramago (1922-2010). I think it might appeal to your sense of humour. It's one of the few books I've read more than once.

I've just had a look and it looks interesting. Sadly, for reasons I won't go into my access to books is only via Audible these days, and t's not available on Audible. But thanks for the heads-up. Speaking of books, mine are QUITE good
