If I could reach for the stars
I would
give you the world
I would.

Fly you to the moon
I would
give you my life
I would.

What I can give is,
my heart
my soul
mylove
my all.

So take what I give you
they are yours
for all time
I love you.

Alice

After having read this poem I completely believed that you would!
Full of love and the beauty of giving freely of oneself.
Made me warm.

This is such a lovely poem Al. It conveys so well the feeling of true love, true strength of emotion.

I'm glad you publish your work here, if no where else, that I may have the pleasure of reading it. Thanks.

Gentle, simple structure - I heartfelt gift, offering which reminded me of the carol:

'What can I give him poor as I am
If I were a shepherd I would give a lamb
If I were a wiseman I would do my part
Yet what I can I give him, give my heart'

Yes, we receive many blessings for free...Two of my favourite creatures in my life just arrived here with me (free). My cat arrived as a kitten boxed up in a crisp packet box (having been found in a skip) and my lamb (now a sheep) was an orphan that the mink trapper found and didn't have time for.

Write on, nikki ;-)
