Dark Nights

Outside
the dark day
nights me.
Our times
in hearts way
standing,
proudly dressed
in the skins
of starving
children.

Inside
the light night
dazes me,
everything is
entertainment
or nothing.
These days
a life of shows
lived only by having
audience & gold
makes us feel
like living.

Then
a sick love
holds on
for just one
more hour.
Then being
here alive
takes again
the touch
of air,
the kiss
of fire.

Then I write
a poem
and send it
on light,
down river
towards
the catch
of you.

Hoping you
will read,
hoping you
will match
another
burning,
from its
glowing
sails.

Very powerful, contrasting dark days with light nights. As though there's nothing to live for in the day, until night arrives with the different forms of entertainment it brings. I also like the idea of sending a poem

"on light,
down river
towards
the catch
of you."

I liked the last two stanzas very much - 'the catch of you' especially. miffle ;-)
