THE SYCAMORE

The sad tree
stood bigger now
gaunt and leafless
I recalled childhood
and a climbed gaze
of a coloured county
and an outside world
but even then
sadness came upon me
for I sensed it was not mine
ahead lay my dream
in a realm far beyond
stood bigger now
gaunt and leafless
I recalled childhood
and a climbed gaze
of a coloured county
and an outside world
but even then
sadness came upon me
for I sensed it was not mine
ahead lay my dream
in a realm far beyond
