The Promise

Posted: 18 September 2013 Word Count: 104 Summary: As I remembered the events of the past, they seemed to guide me towards new horizons, both internally and externally. The final rush of realisation before writing this was that familiar yet rare wave of exhilaration one feels when they have followed their intuition, and perhaps for a very long time allowed intuition to be their master, above and beyond any rational or logical advice from either the front brain or the outside world, and been proved spectacularly right. |

The Promise
I promise you
Your heart knows
It can see through years of longing
And knows what is real
Whatever is hidden
Calls out to you
Continue your search
Come closer
To that which you lost
For what was taken from you
And locked away
Is now the centre of your maze
Shining like a moon on a foggy night
Or a red sun behind the hills
Waiting patiently as all guides do.
With firm roots you will never be shaken again
A known mystery waits to hold you
And grow like a tree within you
Answering the call of your aching heart
I promise you
Your heart knows
It can see through years of longing
And knows what is real
Whatever is hidden
Calls out to you
Continue your search
Come closer
To that which you lost
For what was taken from you
And locked away
Is now the centre of your maze
Shining like a moon on a foggy night
Or a red sun behind the hills
Waiting patiently as all guides do.
With firm roots you will never be shaken again
A known mystery waits to hold you
And grow like a tree within you
Answering the call of your aching heart
