Wolf tears or clown tears,
jewels of truth or decoration?
Emotional lies or greyed remorse -
what belies your altercation?

Agenda - clear or oblique,
words of pure or tainted derivation?
Emotive warmth or icicle jags -
what belies our conversation?

Plaything or punch-bag -
what am I in this equation?
Cherished lover or mere toy -
I plead,
give me an explanation.

I like the second line of each stanza. I understand these lyrics well and have asked the questions myself. Alas, they often know not what they do.

Fearless - thanks for your comment. Words and actions can be understood / misunderstood on so many levels - how does one ever know where they truly fit in another's world?

This is of course the realm of gut instinct and taking chances; perhaps a poem should be written about that.

if poetry is not about expressing an emotion then it has no meaning and becomes just a worthless string of words. It may of course not be overtly obvious and the forma may not be to one's liking but never theless the gut insitnct is surely the heart of the poem.

Bobo

again I like the imagery of this poem i hope it isnot too near the truth for you?

take care

Dear David

Perhaps you misunderstood my second comment, or maybe I have misunderstood yours. But I think we concur - poetry is the expression of emotion.

Kind regards, Woz
