The lone angular figure prowled his domain with fleeting feet and nonchalant arrogance.
He appeared oblivious to a seemingly unloving audience.
I seemed a lone voice of approval in a sea of antipathy.
A stir in the midst was followed by a few murmurs, the tension in the air palpable.
As the figure crashed to his knees arms aloft I rose simultaneously and yelled Mur-ray Mur-ray!
Game, set and match to Murray the Wimbledon announcer pronounced heralding a two week on off love affair between Andy Murray and middle England.
