Where is my sex-god,
my darling carved from stone?
Where's my wealthy Prince
and my palace of a home?
The glitzy dinner parties
are nowhere to be seen,
my life's light years from where
it rightly should have been.
My Love is merely mortal -
a man of flesh and bone,
our house is oh-so-normal,
less majestic in its tone.
Our parties, fun, yet low-key
are not shiny gilt affairs -
this life was not intended,
but I'm thanksful that it's there.
