If my rock is to crumble,
what of me?
Will I drown in foaming waters?
Will the precipice devour my soft flesh?

A rock is supposed to be strong,
invincible.
Yet the fractures are there -
deep veins of destruction
destined to be our undoing.

I can't stand for you
to be undone.

So much meaning packed into so few words, very cleverly worked and although a little sad, pleasant to read.

Your rock will not crumble as you are strong. Only the weak, will fid a problem. BE strond and you will be whole again. XXAlice

Ellie/Alice/Kathleen - thanks for your kind words. My dad's just been told that he's suffered a stroke in his sleep - suddenly his invincibility seems shattered and the thought of a world without him seems to overshadow everything. You don't realise how much you need / love someone until their existence is threatened.

Dear BoBo

You have written movingly about something I myself had recently been through. Yes, a world without him overshadows your worldly day, but he is still there, for you, but now it's clear, that you need to there for him too. Good luck and don't be scared.

Thanks Fearless - difficult to carry on when your world seems about to fall apart. I'm trying to be there for him, but he's a very proud man and doesn't make it easy! I'm sure there'll be more poems on the way about this...
