Lancelot and Guinevere

Sir Lancelot was in a spot
he’d told Queen Guinevere,
their tryst was through,
he must pursue,
his chivalric career.

Guinevere went white with rage,
(she even whacked a passing Page)
and said that she would tell the King,
about their Lancelicit fling.

“But there are dragons to be slain,
if I’m my knighthood to retain.
So, while I’m doing courtly stuff
(and surely once a knight’s enough?)
why not try Sir Galahad –
the ladies say he’s quite a lad?”

Don't stop there! How about a couplet of four lines on Guinevere's reaction? She muses for a moment then cheerfully says goodbye to Lancelot. Maybe she has previous 'experience' with Galahad.

There might be some mileage in the adventures of the reluctant knight Sir Lancelittle...

James.

Mickey - yes more please!

Very funny and perfectly formed so far - no more editing needed. I loved the word play - Lancelicit! - and jokes.
